GE Protimeter MMS is a versatile moisture measuring and powerful dampness analysis gadget. Protimeter MMS can be used for various applications such as checking the moisture levels behind tiles, drywall, masonry, plaster, concrete blocks, stucco, tile and wood flooring, wood and other building materials. It is also useful for performing hygrometric inspection like that required for a dehumidification process and can be used for checking the effectiveness of the ventilation in maintaining the quality of air indoors.

Protimeter MMS is simple to use and furnished with the important accessories: a data downloading software cable; fast responding quick stick; sensor for surface temperature, deep wall insulated probes 5 inches long , pin probes for moisture, calibrating device, hygroscopic stick, table for calibrating different species of wood, book of instructions. There is clear LCD screen and it is provided with a colour LED display to show changes in moisture conditions. Protimeter MMS is simple to use and has only four buttons to operate it.
Modes of Use and Application:
The following are the details of four modes of applications of Protimeter MMS:
Search Mode: In search mode Protimeter MMS is used for checking moisture below wall and floor coverings. The search mode utilizes radio frequency technology for measurement of moisture beneath surfaces. The instrument can be used by selecting search mode, the instrument is held against the wall or floor and a quantative measurement of the moisture level beneath any surface or under a floor or wall covering. Protimeter MMS detects instantly the relative moisture condition. This mode is beneficial for locating the areas that may demand a more detailed analysis. The method is perfect for monitoring the moisture level in bigger areas where it may not be feasible to mark the particular surfaces using pin electrodes. It is possible to detect the moisture up to a depth of 19 mm by using painless non-invasive radio frequency technique to measure moisture. Moisture Meter Mode:
This mode is used detect surface moisture using two-pins for quick measurement of moisture levels in woodwork, walls and flooring, etc. You can select Measure-mode and press the two pin electrode-probes into the surface of the wood or masonry, which is to be checked. Protimeter MMS can be used as a moisture meter in two operational modes to meet a broad range of applications. The actual moisture content in the wood or the material's wood moisture equivalent (WME) value in other non-conducting materials like masonry can be measured directly. The long probes can be used on walls for acquiring information about moisture content at higher depths.
Hygrometer mode:
This mode of Protimeter MMS is used as a hygrometer to measure, dew point, relative humidity, (mixing ratio of grains lbs/ ppm by weight - this is possible with MMS plus model only) and temperature of environment either with a replaceable Hygrostick or a QuickStick probe supplied with the instrument and by just pressing a button. The Hygrostick sensor supplied with Protimeter MMS can also be implanted in solid floors or walls by drilling the holes and inserting the Hydrosticks in the drilled holes to measure ERH, (equilibrium relative humidity of material). It is an ideal instrument for this purpose
Condensation Mode: In this mode Protimeter MMS is used for condensation risk assessment and confirmation. The surface temperatures are measured using the surface temperature sensor for estimation of the condensation risk by comparing the surface temperature with the dew point of the environment being examined.
